Frequently Asked Questions

Kavanah Pouch FAQ

The most common questions we hear, with short, honest answers.

What is Kavanah Pouch?

Kavanah Pouch is a signal-blocking phone pouch designed to help reduce phone distractions during davening, learning, shiurim, and other focused moments. The phone stays with you but becomes out of sight, out of reach, and out of mind.

How does it work?

Slide your phone inside, close the pouch, and the materials block cell, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth signal. The phone is sealed in until you open the pouch. No silent mode, no airplane mode, no settings to restore.

Is this a Faraday pouch?

Functionally yes — it uses the same principle as a Faraday-style sleeve. But it was designed specifically for davening, shul use, learning, shiurim, and other moments when focus matters, not as a generic signal-blocking accessory.

Why not just turn off the phone?

Turning the phone off is ideal — but for many of us it isn't what actually happens in practice. A physical pouch is a more reliable boundary than willpower in the moment. The phone is still with you, but no longer pulling at your attention.

Can I use it during davening?

Yes — that is the primary use case. Slide the phone in before davening, keep the pouch in your pocket or on the shtender, and open it again when you're done.

Is it good for shuls and yeshivos?

Yes. Many shuls and minyanim and yeshivos, schools, and camps order Kavanah Pouches in bulk so mispallelim or talmidim can grab one near the entrance or beis medrash. Discreet, dignified, and shul-appropriate.

Do you offer bulk orders?

Yes. Bundles start at 10 pouches and go up to 100+ for larger kehillos and institutions. Custom quantities are available on request through the sponsor inquiry form.

Can I sponsor pouches for a shul?

Yes. Individuals and families often sponsor pouches for a shul, yeshiva, or camp — sometimes l'iluy nishmat, sometimes l'zchus a simcha. Dedication options are available on request. Start an inquiry →

Is Kavanah Pouch only for shul?

No. Kavanah Pouch is used for davening at home, in shul, at simchas, during shiurim, and any other moment when focus matters. The same principle applies anywhere — phone in the pouch, attention back where it belongs.

Can students use Kavanah Pouch?

Yes. Many yeshivos, seminaries, mesivtas, and Bais Yaakovs use Kavanah Pouch during davening, seder, and shiurim. Students put their phone in the pouch when they enter and take it out when they leave, so the phone never pulls attention during learning.

Is Kavanah Pouch a good gift?

Yes. Many people give Kavanah Pouch as a gift for bar mitzvah, bas mitzvah, engagement, sheva brachos, or yeshiva and seminary acceptance, and as an l'iluy nishmas dedication for a loved one. It is a meaningful, useful gift connected directly to tefillah.

Who would appreciate Kavanah Pouch as a gift?

Adults who want to daven with more focus, parents and grandparents, yeshiva and seminary students, bochurim heading to yeshiva, kallahs, baalei teshuva, and anyone working on bringing more kavanah into their tefillah.
